Chapter 1: The Need for Spiritual Ministry

There is a trend towards Satanism and witchcraft sweeping over America at this present time of such magnitude that it is sucking in millions of people in all age groups. When those who have been deceived into following the devil through occult practices begin to awaken to the fact that they are hopelessly enmeshed in a web of oppression and bondage, many will look to the church for help. We must be prepared by being emptied of self and filled with the Holy Spirit to the point others can sense the presence of God within us. It is the power of His presence that will break the bondage and deception of sin and bring healing to broken hearts.

God has prohibited our participation in occult practices because He knows these activities will bring us into demonic oppression and bondage. Christian counselors and pastors need to realize that underneath persons'  problems and abuse issues may lurk deep spiritual issues that will require God’s supernatural help.

Chapter 2:The Great Exchange

The dysfunction and disintegration of the family structure along with other factors has resulted in a large segment of our population having neither a healthy identity nor the ability to relate well with others. At some point soon I believe God will allow events to take place in the lives of millions of people which will cause them to have to come to grips with two major factors--identity and relationships. Relying on our own understanding and counseling techniques have brought results in the past but we are entering into a time when I propose we will find these ways to be ineffective. Not only do we need to exchange our old ways for God’s ways but also we need to exchange our very life for His. As we are willing to die to our own selfish ways, we will be filled with His life. As we pour out to others, God pours His life into us. Through this principle comes the power and love of His presence necessary to “set the captives free.”

Chapter 3: The Exchanged Life

The only way we will be able to move from a natural into a supernatural ministry is through our willingness to exchange our life for the life of Christ. This is God’s plan for every Christian--that we would decrease in order that He may increase in us. There is a brief explanation of spirit and soul and how we need to be taken through trials so God’s refining fire can purify our motives for ministry. Included is the testimony of how God called the author into the abuse ministry and then took her through a painful experience to burn away her impure motives related to the ministry.

Chapter 4: The Principle of Authority

As we minister to bring people out of the darkness of occult bondage, it is necessary that we deal with demonic spirits. The battle between good and evil is becoming increasingly obvious. As this battle intensifies, we will be called upon to abandon our old ways of fighting in the natural and enter into the greatest spiritual warfare of all time.  One of the major principles we need to understand for effective warfare is the principle of authority. One must be under authority in order to have authority. As Christian ministers and helpers, it is imperative that we be under the authority of those God has placed over us. A submissive heart provides a covering and protection for us in the realm of the spirit. Sometimes it is necessary for a spiritual helper to establish authority in order to make progress with an abuse survivor. Often God will allow an issue to arise that causes a crisis which will only be resolved when the authority issue is settled. This greatly facilitates our progress in ministry.

Chapter 5: The Purpose Behind Satanic Ritual Abuse

The number one reason people worship the devil is to gain power--power to get rich, power to control others, power to be admired, power to get revenge, power to rule, power to bring in the reign of the Antichrist, etc. Powers are demons and demons are powers. Satan will not allow a man, or possibly a woman (more often in satanic ritual abuse they are men) perpetrator, to possess within himself/herself great powers. The powers are instilled through rituals into a female (and sometimes male) victim from whom the perpetrators must access the powers. Important aspects of this are revealed in this chapter.

Chapter 6: Goals for Abuse Ministry

It is imperative to understand there should be no rigid formula for ministering to persons who have suffered severe abuse. Each individual is unique and no two persons will respond exactly the same way. We must be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and follow His guidance; however, we need to have a thorough understanding of the basic goals that need to be accomplished for the person’s healing. These goals are thoroughly explained in this chapter.

Chapter 7: Validity of Memories and Family Abuse

If a person's memories of satanic ritual abuse are true, then he/she should have no further contact with family until healing is completed. In some cases, he/she should never see them again. If the survivor's memories are not genuine then a family is being separated and innocent people are being hurt; therefore, it is essential to know whether or not the memories are true and then act accordingly. When God is leading the minister, the dissociated memories will be released only by the unction of the Holy Spirit, quite unlike the hypnosis commonly used in secular counseling. The supernatural nature of this approach helps reduce the potential for false memories. Many times during the course of a memory God will allow things to occur which will validate the truthfulness of the memory. There are several examples of these validations given. The spiritual helper also needs to know how to deal with memories that are obviously impossible yet fully believed by the survivor. Nine reasons are listed concerning why it is fruitless to attempt proving satanic ritual abuse memories in a court of law. The loss of family relationships should be replaced with new relationships inside the church.

Chapter 8: Identifying Dissociative Identity Disorders and Satanic Ritual Abuse

The most important factor in identifying satanic ritual abuse and its resultant DID is to understand it is not rare. If one is not looking for it, one probably will not recognize it. Some of the characteristics of satanic ritual abuse and dissociative identity disorders are presented through an illustration, followed by a listing of indicators in hopes this will enable the reader to more readily remember them. In addition to this, there is a thorough listing of fifteen indicators of dissociative identity disorders which may or may not have resulted from satanic ritual abuse.  This is succeeded  by an inventory of 29 emotional indicators of satanic ritual abuse followed by 24 possible physical indicators of satanic ritual abuse.

Chapter 9: Magic Surgery and the Formation of the Inner World

This chapter addresses what one can expect to encounter in a person who has been satanically ritually abused to a state of high complexity. Not all satanically ritually abused persons will have the structures and complexity explained in this chapter; however, anyone ministering for satanic ritual abuse will encounter many of these individuals and needs to have a working knowledge of the  concepts explained here. This chapter describes the  inner world of the satanically ritually abused and how it was formed and populated. The alters, demons  and furnishings of the inner world are not randomly placed. There is a basic structure into which each person, demon and object is directed. “Magic surgery” is explained showing how the demonically inspired inner structure was designed and placed into the child. There is also a thorough description of the kinds of alters that may be encountered and their varied purposes. The information in this chapter is probably not in print anywhere else and was gained through many years of prayer and counseling. Certainly Satanists are not  going to reveal anything about their demonic schemes, and their victims are too confused to understand what happened to them or why. Only the Holy Spirit could reveal the facts presented in this and ensuing chapters.

Chapter 10: Ministering to Alters

Basically everyone is aware of the battle between good and evil, not only in the world, but also within. It is often depicted in cartoons by a person with a devil whispering into one ear and an angel whispering into the other. When one becomes a Christian, he/she should experience an intensifying of that inward battle because the light of Christ has entered his/her being and that light begins exposing the darkness of the sin nature within. This battle is not a pleasant experience and we as Christians long for a time when the inward struggle will cease, and we will enter into a rest in Christ. This is not to say we long for death, but we do desire for Jesus Christ to reign in our hearts to such an extent that peace and rest dominate our souls.

For satanically ritually abused persons who have made a commitment to Jesus Christ this battle is intensified exceedingly to the extent they experience having a dark side and a light side. Their dark side has, through satanic rituals, made vows to serve Satan. Their light side is committed to Jesus Christ...and the battle rages.

This chapter describes how to deal with cult alters and gives examples of several interventions that may successfully lead them to a commitment to Christ. The “safe place” is explained here along with ways to encourage alters to manifest. How to progress through a ritual memory is described and there is an explanation of the interaction of alters. The “original person”...the one who existed before abuse began...is also explained.

Chapter 11: Dealing with Demons

According to the Bible, God has given Christians authority and power over demons. The Greek word for authority, exousia, is also translated “power,” so we may use these words interchangeably. All Christians have this authority to some extent, but our power over the demons is directly commensurate to our walk with Jesus. This power increases as Jesus increases in us. In Matthew 10:1 we read, And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out... It is important we notice He gave this power to His disciples but not to the multitudes. Only when we are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to be a disciple will we have the power to deal with the demons encountered in satanic ritual abuse. These demons are not the “personal” demons that come on people because they enter into sin. These demons are deliberately called into people for the purpose of power. These are the demons listed in Ephesians 6:10.

An explanation about the Gadarene demoniac is given along with guidelines for discerning the difference between alters and demons. Eleven weapons of warfare are explained and several common demon “tricks” are exposed.

Chapter 12: Programming

The purpose of programming is to gain control of a person’s mind, will, emotions and body to bring them into complete subjection to Satan and the cult. Through programming cultists are able to bring a person to the point of such servitude that any command or suggestion will bring immediate compliance. The programmers use extreme torture, terror, intimidation, deprivation, isolation and demonization to break a person to the extent he/she becomes their obedient slave. The cult delights in releasing their victims into society and then controlling them from a distance. All they have to do is activate a program and the person becomes their puppet. Alters and demons run programs which can be triggered by certain prearranged codes. Several common programs and codes are revealed in this chapter.

Chapter 13: The Abuse Identity and Backwards Thinking

People having grown up in abusive homes think differently than those who were raised in loving, caring families. These different patterns of thinking are mainly centered around their concept of identity. Abused people’s abuse does not stop because they no longer live with abusive people. They unconsciously seek out abuse to reinforce their identity because even a negative identity is better than no identity. That which is familiar, even though it is painful, is more comfortable than that which is unknown. To one who has always lived in fear, peace seems uncomfortable and frightening. The abuse identity needs to be identified and slowly dismantled, one belief at a time, and replaced with the truth of an identity in Jesus Christ. This chapter contains a description of the “backwards room” and several examples of “backwards thinking.”

Chapter 14: Poetry by Abused Persons

This chapter contains several poems in which satanically ritually abused persons have expressed their emotions and their faith in God.
