A Continuation of "The Secret Place"

E-mail Print PDF

January 1, 2010

In addition to memorizing the Word, we need to learn to visualize it. What would a safe place in God look like? There is one description I like in Exodus regarding Moses. God said, "There is a place by me and you will stand upon a rock. I will put you in a cleft of the rock and I will cover you with my hand while I pass by." I can easily picture that in my mind. I see a high cliff with a special place carved out for me in the side where I can stay as long as I want. I can make it be anything I want it to be. It could be like a little cave-like house there in the side of the cliff. There is a giant hand over the opening shielding me from anything that would try to come against me to destroy me.

It is in our mind that the battle rages. If we can stay in peace and calm in our mind, we can remain in the presence of the Lord, for he is peace. It is only by his presence that I can experience peace and by visualizing Scripture, his presence is strongly with me. It is much more than just a mind thing, it actually brings his presence to us.

Oil in Your Lamps

December 15, 2009

This prophetic word came forth during our church service last Sunday. I witnessed strongly to it and wanted to share it with my readers.

Oh, My  Children, this is the day to fill your lamps, fill your vessels, fill your vessels. Oh, My Children, today is the day to collect the vessels, collect them and fill them with oil because there will come a day soon, very soon, when you will not be able to gather the oil. You will have to have that which you need to keep your lamps shining. Oh, My Children, this is the season for oil. Do not waste your time. Do not forsake me. Do not turn away from your studies or from your time with me. Oh, My Children, now is the day for the gathering of the oil for soon you will have to use all that you have to keep your lamps burning for behold I cometh.

The Secret Place of the Most High

E-mail Print PDF

December 1, 2009

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1).

Very soon events will take place in our world that will cause every one of us to fear. If we have prepared a safe place in God, if we know we are in Christ and that he is in us, then we will be able to find peace in the midst of chaos and fear. In this article I would like to share some things I see at the doorstep of our nation and make some suggestions on how to find a safe place in God

Do you have a secret place in God? Do you know where to go in Christ to feel safe and secure when the going gets rough? If you have been suffering through trials and tribulations in the past few months or years, you have probably been learning how to find this place in God. It is something that no one else can find for you. It is worked through as we endure trials and draw close to the Lord in the midst of the trial. It's kind of like having oil in your lamp. You can put oil in your own lamp, but you can't give your oil to anyone else. It is non-transferable because it involves a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and that is something you cannot give to anyone even if you wanted to. (Please click on title to read more.)

The Mystery of the Cherubim Explained: Part 2

E-mail Print PDF

Article 2   September 1, 2009

This article will explain the meaning of the cherubim and then show how this understanding can bring healing to the deepest levels of a wounded soul. God is calling us to meet with him between the cherubim and it is here that we will find all we need to be healed and made whole. The second half of this article tells of a vision experience where Jesus meets with wounded inner parts and gives instructions as to how this healing takes place. Truly amazing!

The most detailed description of the cherubim is found in Exodus where they were positioned over the mercy seat on the Ark of the Covenant (Exo. 2:18-22). They are mentioned as being there again in Hebrews 9:5 where the writer of Hebrews stated that he could not at that time reveal more about the cherubim saying that of such “we cannot now speak particularly” (KJV). Another translation puts it this way, “But we cannot explain all of these things now” (NLT). The mystery of the cherubim could not be explained 2000 years ago because they have a message for the church of the end times. This article will explain their message in detail.

Over the Ark of the Covenant (a type of our heart) was a lid called the mercy seat that was made of pure gold. This mercy seat was a representation of the atoning work of Jesus Christ…the propitiation for our sins. Rising up out of the mercy seat and made from the same piece of pure gold were the two cherubim. So we see here a beautiful type of the heart of a believer (ark) covered by the atoning work of Christ that grants forgiveness for sins (mercy seat), and rising up out of this were the two cherubim. Now I ask you, who is the atonement all about? Certainly it is not about angels. The cherubim represent the two persons involved in the atonement. One represents the initiator of the atonement which is the Lord Jesus Christ. The other cherub represents the recipient of this atoning work—the believer. Because of what Jesus did for us…because he died for us that our sins could be forgiven (the atonement), we can now have relationship with God. This is where we meet with him…in relationship. (He said to Moses is Exodus that he would meet with him from between the cherubim.) As we shall see, we also can meet with him there.

A Healing Family

E-mail Print PDF

July 4, 2009

Most abused persons grew up in highly dysfunctional families where the toxic shame of their parents was passed down to them through the dynamics of family interaction. They wind up carrying these feelings of shame (that I’m sub-normal, defective and will never succeed) with them throughout life. The message that Jesus loves them and accepts them just the way they are just doesn’t sink in because they are filled with self-hatred and a false concept of who they are based on the way they were treated in their family.

Most counselors will agree that one of the first steps for the healing of shame involves separating from the family of origin and becoming part of a new family. This is not to say they should not have contact with their original family (unless the family satanically ritually abused them or forced other severe abuse upon them), but that they not allow the family to define their identity for them any longer. John Bradshaw states in his book Bradshaw on the Family:

We cannot find our lost self unless we leave home. We leave home by giving up our scripts and rigid roles. They denied us our authenticity. We played these rigid roles out of loyalty to our dysfunctional family systems. We got power and control from these roles, but they have cost us dearly. We were born to be ourselves. This can only be done by separating from our family systems designations and from our parents’ beliefs and opinions about us. Jesus Christ was strong in affirming the impossibility of finding God, much less ourselves, unless we left home. Matthew quotes Jesus as saying, “I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to put sons against fathers and daughters against mothers…And a man’s foes shall be those of his own household.” (Mt. 10:34-36).
